Sungjoon Kim won a Silver IDEA.

ID KAIST student Sungjoon Kim won a Silver IDEA for ezSlide in the Student Designs category of the 2010 International Design Excellence Awards. ezSlide is a low-cost and user-centered wheelchair enabling a patient to transfer from wheelchair to bed or vice versa without assistance of others. The main target users for ezSlide are the patients who have available upper body. It has the unique double-track structure with oil pressure cylinders engaged with the seat and backrest to amplify the arm power. It will not only free caregivers from intense supervision, but also give the patients confidence and self-esteem by being more independent. The award will present to him in August 2010.
