From May 11 to May 18 2008, an International Design Workshop & Competition was held for a week in Taiwan. Here, IDKAIST professors Kun Pyo Lee and Sang Min Bae gave lectures in front of many design students whilst also participating in a design competition along with 2 IDKAIST students Yuree S. Lim and Jun Sik Kim. Both teams were awarded with the top prize of Best of the Best. 2 themes were given for this competition which were “Cooking” and “Interacting.” A total of 14 teams (3 to 4 people per team), 7 teams for each theme, took part in this intense competition. IDKAIST graduate student Yuree S. Lim took part in the theme of “Cooking” while undergraduate student Jun Sik Kim took part in the theme of “Interacting” and both were awarded with the best prize. This competition was sponsored by NCKU and NTUA, two design schools in Taiwan. Participating schools were IIT, TU Delft, Nanyang University, Seoul National University, Dongseo University, Chiba University, KAIST, and various design schools from Taiwan.
