The video of K2 winter school 2018 “transfabrication” is out. In this exciting K2 fab studio “transfabrication” with KAIST and Kyushu, design and architecture, we joined forces to think about “Urban Furniture” for the future city. Our journey started in Seoul Korea in the lively maker area, downtown Seoul. We documented the renovated Seunsanga complex and the emerging decentralized small factories.  This urban area was contrasted with a visit to a traditional hanok village in the countryside near Gongju.
In the studio, we explored the use of digital fabrication in non-collocated design meetings that we name “Trans Fabrication”. We shared digital 3D models and made real size experiential prototypes  both at KAIST and Kyushu.
