The perception of color is essential to human visual experience and is the most powerful information channel among human senses. This makes color a compelling visual cue for persuasive communication purposes. Unlike some visual qualities such as shape, depth, or location, viewing color focuses on the connection between the central characteristic of the physical properties—color match or color sensation—and the experience of color—color aesthetics or color semantics—, which is arbitrary. When discussing how color is communicated, therefore, the viewing aspect should be clarified: sometimes color should be precisely communicated, but sometimes the communication of a color should be affective, ambiguous, or implicit. Consequently, a wide scope of knowledge across various disciplines is required to properly understand color.

In this foregoing, we empirically explore the human's color experience by means of multidisciplinary approaches. Our current research interest includes
-psychology of viewing color
-color and human physiology including the brain
-LED color and application
-assessment of affective experience
and more.
