In October, PhantomPen, a paper submitted by David Lee, Kyounghee Son and Joon Hyub Lee from I2DEA Lab (Advisor Prof. Seok-Hyung Bae) from the Department of Industrial Design was accepted at UIST 2012, the top HCI conference. The paper is the only one by a Korean team to be accepted at the UIST 2012 conference. PhantomPen is a concept that removes the pen head of a conventional stylus and replaces it with a seamless virtual visualization. The conference attendees favorably commented on PhantomPen’s attempt to integrate physical and virtual interaction, and on its overall innovation on digital drawing.
